This site is built to need as little of your data as possible. It sets no cookies, embeds nothing from third parties and keeps no profile of you. What follows is the detail.

Streaming Sounds is an unregistered brand of JRM-Studios and not a legal entity of its own. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to.

When you open a page

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver a page to you, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address, the page you requested, the time of the request, your browser and operating system, and the page you came from. Without your IP address no server can send you anything.

Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is operating a website that loads quickly and is protected against attacks. We have a data processing agreement in place with Cloudflare.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for anything else.

One piece of information is stored locally in your browser: the packs you put in your cart. It is a list of pack names and nothing else, kept in local storage rather than a cookie. It never leaves your device unless you go to checkout, and we cannot read it. Legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly asked for. You can empty the cart on the cart page or clear it through your browser at any time.

Fonts, images and sound previews

Typefaces, images and the sound previews are all served from our own server. No request is made to Google Fonts, YouTube or any other third party, and no data about you reaches one.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets no cookies, uses no fingerprinting and builds no profile across sites or visits. Your IP address is used only momentarily to work out the country you are in and is not stored.

Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent is required. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site reaches anyone at all. We chose this over a conventional analytics service so that you are not asked to agree to being measured.

When you buy something

The packs are sold through Link, a merchant of record operated by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland, and its affiliates). Link is named as the seller at checkout. On its checkout page you enter your email address, billing address and payment details. Link processes this data, together with your IP address and the details of the transaction, as a controller in its own right and under its own privacy policy, which it shows you at checkout. We never see your card or account details.

When the payment is confirmed, Link tells us your email address, the packs you bought and the order reference. We use them to deliver your download link and to send you a new link when you ask for one. The link email is sent through Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany). Your order and the download files are stored on Cloudflare.

Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, processing necessary to deliver what you bought. We keep your email address and your order for as long as we offer re-downloads of the pack, so that we can send you a new link, and delete them earlier if you ask us to.

When you write to us

If you email us, we process the address you wrote from and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to deal with your request and afterwards for as long as any retention obligation applies. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where it concerns a purchase, and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR otherwise, our legitimate interest in answering you. Our mailbox is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias, Switzerland.

There is no contact form on this site, so there is no form data and no spam protection service processing anything about you.

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare and Stripe may process data in the United States. Such transfers are based on the EU standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR and on each provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Infomaniak processes data in Switzerland, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17), to have processing restricted (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21).

Encryption

This site is served over HTTPS. Everything between your browser and the server is encrypted.

We update this policy when the site changes. The date below tells you which version you are reading.
